The 1st Edition was compiled for 1859-1860 and was printed in 1860. We have concentrated our efforts on providing Hartland related pages from available earlier editions found so far which have been photographed or downloaded from the original books. Each related page has been transcribed and reformatted into a document as well as edited to provide full names and/or further details when known. The Hartland Public Library, among others, maintains a very respectable collection of numerous editions through the current year. We continue our search for missing early editions and also update these existing documents as new details are discovered.

Update – October 1, 2023
It is unknown when or whom incorrectly transcribed Hartland’s organization as a plantation on October 11, 1811 and its incorporation as a town on February 17, 1820 but the information was erroneously used through each edition of these manuals. We have corrected those dates as they originally appeared in the manuals to read as October 11, 1819 & February 7, 1820 respectively in the documents below.
